Profile for M. V. "Vinny" Mendoza |
|
General: (political statement of goals, objectives, views, philosophies) |
Invest in America First! - Reduce 80% of funding to the War in Iraq and Afghanistan to include rebuilding expenses. - Abolish FEMA in its entirety and task Department of Defense for Disaster Prevention and Disaster Response obligations. - Balance budget by reducing 8 trillion dollar deficit through Fraud, Waste and Abuse fiscalization of the out of control Department of Defense spending--NO more blank checks to contractor friends of GW and VP Cheney. - Iraq was for Sale by the War Profittiers. Our Louisiana troops have been killed by the dozens (65), while Halliburton and the Bush circle of friends have been making a "Killing" by the Billions of the American peoples' tax dollars. - Bring in 4 PRIME BEEF and PRIME RIBS Air Force Civil Engineer units to rebuild the lower 9th Ward and New Orleans East at no cost to the State or Local governments and/or the people that have been left hanging for 14 months. - Enact the Federal Crime Zone in the Gulf Coast which will double or triple punishments to criminals involved in possession and/or distribution of drugs and possession of deadly weapons without a permit. - Enact legislation that will enforce the SBA to process disaster assistance grants and/or loans within 30-60 days of application and disburse funds to victims within 30-60 days of verification of loss. Pay the victims directly and not wait 12-36 months to provide Emergency Assistance--The Louisiana Recovery Authority Road Home Program is a shameful system that is in disarray and full of Federal and State red tape. - Elevate our dilapidated school system into a World Class System within 18 months. - Create 100,000 new jobs for Katrina and Rita victims so that they can return home to live. work and play.
Here are my top 10 disenchantments of why I must continue my quest to become the U.S. Representative for LA02:
1. The mishandling of the War in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to 3,000 U.S. troops killed in action, 50,000 injured and nearly 32,000 diagnosed 100% mentally ill which can be a time bomb in it self. Remember Terry Nichols and Timothy McVey in Oklahoma? They became President Clinton's worst nightmare, as Bin Laden is to President Bush. We cannot afford to have more sick people going into schools or the work place to kill people. Now these mentally ill veterans have lost their benefits because the Republican Congress voted to strip them from what they had earned in combat.
2. President Bush is now the Fund raiser in Chief and not the Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces.
3. President Bush has attended to dozens of private and public fund raisers for dozens of politicians and may have not attended to not even ONE military funeral honoring an American soldier killed in Iraq fighting for the freedom of our great nation.
4. Jack Abrannof, Bob Nay and Mark Foley's actions cannot be ignored.
5. The Republican leadership in the House of Representatives has not set a good example on how to handle sensitive issues. They opted for covering up.
6. Fraud, Waste and Abuse by FEMA and Department of Defense. Contractor friends of the Bush Administration collect billions of dollars before completing their contracts and in some situations they may have collected billions of dollars even before beginning the contracts. In New Orleans, President Bush hand picked the person to oversee the Louisiana Recovery Authority which means that he is keeping the strings of what is going on here which is lethargic and shameful--that is no way to treat the American tax payers.
7. We have an 8 trillion dollar deficit. To pay it off, our children and grand children with have to pay approximatele the price tag of $30,000-50,000 per each child for the next 100 years. If you let him continue driving America into the ground, by January 2009 America will be bankrupt.
8. Escalating crime is out of control as well as the legal system.
9. Dilapidated school systems. We must create our destiny which is not and must not be crime as a result of lack of education and poverty. With your vote you can change the future of America--it is in your hands.
10. Slow federal and state disaster relief assistance is taking 15 months to get to it's final destination. The LRA Road Home Program, has only paid about 13 people out of several thousands of applicants. That is a miscarriage of justice and inhuman acts of the Bush Administration. What happened to the moral values of our President?
The only way to change the direction of the War in Iraq and keeping America from going bankrupt is by replacing the Republican controled Senate and House of Representatives with Democrats. I pledge to work 12 hour days, 6 days a week until I accomplish the above listed. The 6th day, I will work hands on rebuilding the lower 9th word and New Orleans East when I am in the local area, and while in D.C., I will continue making contacts with those politicians who have never visited our devastated area since Katrina ocurred. We cannot "Stay the Course" of the Bush War in Iraq and the "Do nothing Congress." On November 7th, we must "Change the Course" of the Bush War and replace the "Business as Usual Congress." Let's invest in America First--our children need World Class Education and our elderly that built this nation need a government with character that will provide them with free health care. |
